This new development will deliver a mix of 23 apartments, eight bungalows and eight maisonettes.
This initiative is the third phase of the Aspire Housing Cross Street development in the Staffordshire town. Phase one saw the completion of nine bungalows, while phase two, currently underway, will result in the construction of 43 homes.
Dave Bradley, managing director of Vistry North Midlands,said: "This marks a significant step forward in bringing much-needed affordable housing for those in their later years to the area, creating a vibrant and sustainable community.

Dan Gray, executive director of place at Aspire Housing, said the company was proud to be beginning work on the next stage of the project, investing £20m into the local area.
He added: “We’re looking forward to seeing the local community continue to grow and thrive as we break ground on this next phase and we're extremely grateful to Homes England and Newcastle Town Deal for their contributions towards this programme.”
Construction on the third phase of the project is set to begin in the coming weeks, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
